My dearest friends:
With humble willingness dare I inform you that what I once entitled “Heavenly Collection of the World” has now been compiled and finalized (First, Second, and Third Volumes, containing 75 tracks each; 225 in total), and is at your disposal for your pleasure and cultivation.
Many of you have already appreciated the first two volumes (both now updated and renewed) and have been pressing me on the third one. Frankly: previously I didn’t think it would appear, but what was primarily a personal collection of tunes and melodies from my childhood, evolved with your perseverance into a small research practically proving that what we perceive as a gap between elitist and popular cultures is mostly nothing but a lack of competence in other nations’ treasuries.
Several rigid principles were set before selection:
- no folk tunes;
- no operettas or musicals;
- originals and first versions;
- high-quality balance between an intellectual text and exquisite melody.
The presented “Heavenly Collection” embraces melodies from all over the world, including, among others, exotic countries of origin (Argentina, Brazil, Byelorussia, Czech Rep., Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Holland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Lebanon, Norway, Poland, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, United States).
Your first impression might be that it is a bunch of “retro hits” and “oldies”, which is wrong: no time limits were set, and the only decisive argument was quality: you will nevertheless find brilliant exceptions of the New Millennium. Unfortunately, not my fault that culturally the world fell into a black hole since 1990-s…
While listening to the Collection, don’t get fooled by the three-second zapping effect: most tunes, though characteristic melodically, might require your poetic and linguistic strain.
Enjoy!
